Senior Pictures of Katy – Class of 2011

Katy decided on an urban / industrial look for her senior photo session with us. So we hit a few of our favorite locations here in Vancouver.  We found Katy to be a joy to work with and came away with a good variety of images for her in a little over an hour.  Katy is a graduate of Hudsons Bay High this year. Senior Pictures of Sterling – Class of 2011

It was a wonderful fall day when we went over to Sterlings home to do his senior photos. The grounds in and around his home were beautifully landscaped which gave us a variety options in which to shoot. Sterling graduated this year from Columbia River High School here in Vancouver, WA.

Senior Pictures of Dominique – Class of 2011

Dominique was truly one of our most enjoyable subjects to work with this year. As you can see in the photos with the orange material wrapped around her she was open to anything we suggested. We chose an industrial look which seemed to work well for her style. She graduated from Fort Vancouver High School this year.

Senior Pictures of Spencer – Class of 2011

Spencer graduated from Union High School here in Vancouver, WA this year. He selected an urban look for his senior photo session so this is what we came away with for him. We found him to be very comfortable in front of the camera.  Thanks again Spencer for selecting us!

Senior Pictures of Liz – Class of 2011

Liz came to us from St. Mary’s Academy in Portland for her senior pictures. We found out that she is quite an accomplished musician on the viola.  The Portland Rose Garden was our location of choice and it made for a wonderful setting and backdrop for the photos.  The morning light was just spectacular and Liz seemed very comfortable in front of the camera.

One of my favorite images is of  her playing the viola and seeing her get so totally connected with the music. In contrast is one of her making a silly face and just goofing around.

Senior Pictures of Steven – Class of 2011

Because Steven attends Forest Grove High School we decided to meet with him in Banks Oregon to do his senior photos. As you can see from these images his main interests are skateboarding and playing guitar. The skies were very stormy on the trip over to meet up with him and we actually thought we may have to cancel our photo shoot because of it.  But I love stormy skies so we continued on despite rain hitting our windshield. Fortunately the rain stopped and held off long enough for us to capture these images.

A great bonus to the day was finding an old burnt out home we saw on our way into town. While photographing Steven with his guitar I told him it felt like I was shooting an album cover for him. He was thanking me for the great job we did and he had yet to see any of the images. Needless to say he loved what we came away with that day.

Senior Pictures of Kryss – Class of 2011

Kryss liked our style so much that she and her mom made the trip from Sandy Oregon to have her senior photos taken. We started out at The Japanese Gardens and then headed over to a few of our favorite urban areas in the Portland area. We happened upon a cool looking bus, thinking it was empty we snapped a few images but then we heard some rumblings inside so decided to moved along our way.

Senior Pictures of Dan – Class of 2011

I would say that one thing about Dan that stood out to me when I first met him was his piercing blue eyes. Dan is a great guy and quite athletic so with those killer eyes I’m sure he doesn’t go unnoticed by many gals.

While photographing him at one of our favorite urban / industrial areas I noticed some chalk drawings on one of the pillars.  So an idea hit me to incorporate an image of Dan into one of them with the help of Photoshop. The result is shown here in the first image. Dan graduated this year from Mountain View High School here in Vancouver, WA.

Senior Pictures of Hannah – Class of 2011

This was one of those senior photo sessions where just about every picture we took was a keeper, little to say it made for a very tough edit. Much of this had to do with Hannah trusting our vision and being open to anything we threw her way, she was a great subject. Adding to that was wonderful lighting at some of our special locations. These are just a few of our favorites we took in the 90 minutes we had with her.

Hannah is a graduate of Hudson’s Bay High School here in Vancouver, Washington.

Senior Pictures of Jake – Class of 2011

Because Jake spends quite a bit of time in Portlands’ Hawthorne district he thought it would be a good place to have us take his senior photos at. We couldn’t have agreed more, it is a great neighborhood with that true “Portland” feel to it.  Jake is an avid skateboarder and one of his other favorite places is Mount Tabor Park which is where we ended up at.

 Jake is a graduate this year from Columbia River High in Vancouver, WA.
