Senior Pictures of Jake – Class of 2011

Because Jake spends quite a bit of time in Portlands’ Hawthorne district he thought it would be a good place to have us take his senior photos at. We couldn’t have agreed more, it is a great neighborhood with that true “Portland” feel to it.  Jake is an avid skateboarder and one of his other favorite places is Mount Tabor Park which is where we ended up at.

 Jake is a graduate this year from Columbia River High in Vancouver, WA.

Senior Pictures Emma – Class of 2011

I must say that Emma brought to us one of the more interesting fashion styles we have ever photographed with our seniors – Steam Punk.  So we were challenged to emulate a 19^th Century style which involves steam power, heavy industry and gears. It appears that fake wings and keys are also involved. Added to this look were techniques I embellished upon in post production.  After doing more research into this style I actually found myself intrigued by it and would love to have the opportunity again to photograph another subject like Emma.

One thing missing from the photo session was an old steam locomotive. A working steam locomotive in our area is a very rare occurrence, but fortunately one happened to show up in town the following week for a few hours.  I rushed over to photograph it and spent some time in Photoshop to create a unique picture that blends together the last two images shown here.  I surprised Emma and her mom with the image and they loved it. It’s always fun when you can surprise and exceed clients’ expectations.

Emma will be graduating from Heritage High School here in Vancouver, WA this year.

Senior Pictures of Zach – Class of 2011

Zachs’ senior photo session was done in two parts. The first one was for the yearbook photo at the end of last year and then we finished the bulk of his photos in the spring of this year. 

The photo with the pink flamingos was a joke to his mom.  She said “No” when he suggested it, then when she went inside for a few minutes we suggested we take one anyway. She didn’t know it until she saw the proofs on-line.  As you can see from the majority of these images Zach is a huge Blazer fan, so it just made sense to go to the Portland Rose Garden Arena for them.

Zach graduated from Camas High this year.

Senior Pictures of Bria – Class of 2011

We had a blast doing Brias’ senior photos and I know the feeling was mutual. She’s a very pretty girl with a fun, easy going personality. She wanted to do her photos in an urban setting so we went to some of our favorite areas here in town to accommodate her.  She graduated this year from Hudsons Bay High here in Vancouver, WA.
